Bunny Ears

This pattern was originally concieved as a part to a teddy bear costume, but it will work just as well for your own hair as well as that of your favorite Hop-a-Long kid. (photo to come later)

Scraps of baby yarn, Sport weight yarn or Lustersheen in two colors (one for outside of ear and one for inside of ear, you may wish to use pink for the inner ear.)

One elastic hair band (such as Goody or Wilhold brands)

Rnd 1(foundation): Working around elastic band (also known as working over the band) loosely work sc until band is full, but not so tight as the band can not recoil from stretching. Join with sl st.

Outside of Ear, with scrunchie color and in Back Loop ONLY:

Row 1: Ch 1, turn; sc in next 5 sts.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in 1st st, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in last st.

Rows 3 - 8: Ch 1, turn; sc in each st across

Row 9: Ch 1, turn; Sc DEC, sc in next 3 sts, sc dec.

Row 10: Ch 1, turn; sc dec, sc in next st, sc dec

Row 11: Ch 1, turn; sc dec, sc in last st

Row 12: turn (Do NOT ch 1), sc dec; FASTEN OFF.

For Inside of Ear attach Inside color to Front Loop on scrunchie in first st of first row.

Work the same as for Outer Ear only use Front Loop ONLY

Joining Inside of Ear to Outside of Ear

Row 1: Using outside color, join yarn with sl st to bottom corner of Ear going through both layers (Front and Back). Work one sc in end of each row up to top and down to bottom, sl st to next unworked space of scrunchie foundation.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn; Sc in each st around; join to next unworked st on foundation and fasten off. Hide the end.

Skip 6 sts on Foundation and work another ear being careful that the inner ears are on the same side..
